Purpose

There are over thirty million uninsured patients in the US who do not have regular access to a primary care physician. There is a big disparity in how people with insurance receive their care verses uninsured. While the medical care for the insured population is mostly managed and coordinated by the primary care physician, uninsured patients are likely to ignore consulting a primary care doctor and visit any facility that they have access to in case of a health need. There is no proper mechanism to maintain medical records, track health history or provide follow-up care.

While overseeing patient care delivered at a primary care facility to improve patient outcomes, we noticed that uninsured patients would come for a sick visit consultation but ignore follow up visits or blood tests due to out of pocket costs. This makes it hard for the doctors to accurately diagnose the problem and provide the right treatment. For prescription medications they end up paying higher price if they don’t shop around as some pharmacies end up charging double the price. We have also noticed international visitors seeking visiting multiple times during their stay and finding it difficult to pay full price for multiple visits and blood tests as well as medication refills.

After extensive due diligence and assessing the market need, we have launched MyPhysicianPlan to offer comprehensive primary care and extend high quality care to uninsured patient population nationwide, including part-time and full-time employees without access to traditional health insurance. By establishing primary care physician network nationwide and partnering with major diagnostic labs with service centers nationwide to offer discounted tests, as well as by offering prescription savings card that provides lowest and transparent pricing, MyPhysicianPlan helps uninsured population nationwide to receive high quality care at an affordable price.
